For those of you who are not in the habit of regularly checking the San Jose Tribal Dance homesite for schedule updates, etc. & because Kathy has been otherwise occupied and unable to make this latest update to the site, I thought I'd give you all a heads up.

Due to the unfortunate knee injury and subsequent surgery of San Jose Tribal Dance teacher and Tribal Moon troupe director, Kathy Stalhman, the following schedule changes have been made. This remains in effect until further notice:

SCHEDULE CHANGES & NOTICES

*Level I - Saturday 10:30 am to 11:45 pm - classes will be led by Tribal Moon troupe members.

*Level I - Monday Classes are cancelled.
*Level II - Saturday Classes are cancelled.

Kathy hopes to return to the studio as soon as possible (perhaps as "the voice" while the Tribal Moon ladies demonstrate).
Tribal Moon continues to perform in her absence.

GET BETTER SOON, KATHY!!!!!!

  • I want to send a great big thank you to everyone who has sent good wishes and get well messages during this very difficult time for me.

The ACL is on the mend, though it is a very, very slow process post-surgery.

The Tribal Moon girls will do a great job subbing for me in Saturday class, Level 1.

For my Monday night students, things should be back to normal for us after the July 4th holiday.

I miss you all and look forward to being fully recovered as quickly as I can.
    • Hello dear friend,

HMMMM ACL - yes its a process and many many dancers and athletes find themselves experiencing it. My very best healing love to you. I'm sure you're reading up on foods and herbs and supplements, - anti oxidants, and omega 3's!!!! Fresh juices and fresh foods and lots of visualization of healthy pink interconnected tissues, regrowth of healthy nerves and tissues! Its like imagining the incredible web of myceliating networks under the forest floor that keeps the forest in tip top health. I see you dancing gracefully through your healing and reentry into your lovely community as an inspiring wise woman!

I want to offer that your students are welcome to come to Heavy Hips TBD Level 2 and Level 3 classes Tues or Thurs nites respectively 6-7:30 in Santa Cruz at the Louden Nelson Center 301 Center St 95060 for dance practice until your back in full swing. We pray, renew, drill, repertoire and reconnect - come join us if you want.

As you may know I'm no longer taking new students and this summer will probably be the last of my teaching Belly Dance - so I'm happy to give away my knowledge to whomever is seeking re the dance. I'm growing new roots and shoots to teach, mentor, design, educate, activate and cultivate in the realm of Planet Water Earth Integrative Eco Social Design through Permaculture Principles and Restoration, Regenerative Design Principles. I want to spend the last decades of my life serving the healing rift between Humanity and Nature as we come to face to face with the grail of Peak Oil and Climate Change.
